7. Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie
Image Tracks – Restless Present
The Darmstadt photography days are an international festival for contemporary photography. For one weekend, the focus subject will be presented in photo exhibitions and a symposium on the subject matter, embedded in a comprehensive framework program.
Today's societies are undergoing change in nearly all areas of life and all layers of society. This may have its cause in belief – but inability to control - technology, extreme forces of nature or political-social upheaval. What will happen to the globalized and networked world that seems so unordered today? The complexity of today's world requires attention of people looking for self-assurance and perspectives. These changes –perceived, self-caused or fate – influence our lives in the negative, as well as in the positive sense. Where will we find the tracks pointing
from the restless present to the future?
For the 4th time, the “Merck-Preis der Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie” will be awarded among the framework program exhibitors. Three artists are nominated: Walter Ebenhofer, Nathalie Grenzhäuser and Florian Schunck. One of them will receive the Merck-Preis, endowed with 5,000 EUR, on the evening of the opening.
